It doesn’t take long for baking trays to start looking worse for wear as food and scorch marks get baked onto the surface in the oven.
No amount of washing up liquid and scrubbing ever seem to do the job, but a man has shared a his cleaning hack to rescue the trays and leave them “so clean I can see my face in it”.
In a video shared on TikTok captioned ‘Spotless oven trays’, he explains that all you need to get the job done is baking soda and a bottle of white vinegar.
Using two old, discoloured baking trays to demonstrate, he pours a good layer of baking soda on each before adding enough white vinegar to cover the bottom.
A Brillo pad is then used to quickly scrub the bottom and spread the cleaning solution onto the sides of the tray, which is then left for half an hour to work it’s magic.
Once the time is up, he pours away the liquid and “inserts elbow grease”, showing the incredible results by only doing one half of the tray to act as a comparison.
By the time the whole tray is completed it looks like new and he adds all that is left to do is reap the rewards of your work.
The video racked up more than 220,000 views, as people thanked him for sharing the handy hack.
Some argued they would rather just go and buy a new one than put in the effort required, but one snapped back to say: “Good for ya not contributing to our throw-away society, a tray is cheap but this is still reusable.”
And others made their own suggestions, with many claiming The Pink Stuff does a far better job with a lot less effort, and some said they just put tin foil on top of their old trays instead.
